Boot Camp Experience
What was accomplished by throwing volunteers into freezing water? Find out below. And read how it was taken a step further and done again.

Cold Water Boot Camp USA takes 8 hearty volunteers from across the America and puts them into cold water to learn what really happens to a victim immersed in cold water. See how quickly a victim becomes incapacitated and how the life jacket when properly worn, keeping the head out of the water and the airway clear, an immersed victim can survive to hypothermia.

The Volunteers of Cold Water Boot Camp, all boating and water safety professionals and specialists in their fields experience the three effects of cold-water immersion – cold shock, cold incapacitation, and even hypothermia. The Cold Water Boot Camp and Beyond Cold Water Boat Camp USA Rescue Recover, and Re-Warm, DVD’s provide you with valuable information about how to survive an accidental fall into cold water and Boot Campers face the indisputable fact – that the difference between becoming a statistic and a Survivor – is wearing a life jacket!

Beyond Cold Water Boot Camp USA, following on the heels of Cold Water Boot Camp USA takes us one step further with in depth with information for boating and water safety instructors and focuses on the three significant effects of cold water immersion; shock, incapacitation, and hypothermia.

The sad reality of hypothermia is that a large percentage of severely hypothermic victims die during or shortly after the rescue and many of these deaths can be attributed to improper rescue and handling techniques.

Thee Three “R’s” (Rescue, Recover, Re-Warm) reviews extraction techniques from a variety of vessels, triage and treatment options, including re-warming on site and stabilizing the victim for transport to a medical facility. The program is designed for anyone who might find themselves in a situation to rescue a hypothermic victim. The information provide in this DVD will better prepare boating and ater safety experts / educators to instruct about the risks of cold water immersion.

Both of these projects provided the information for writing a curriculum for Cold Water Immersion Survival and Rescue, Recover, Re-Warming techniques.

Thank You, Participants!
Neither of these projects could've happened without some amazing volunteers. We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the campers, rescuers, and production team that made these projects a reality.
